(2003 - 2008)
This series of work is about the tendency of all systems to become more complex and less and less able to do what they once did. This complexity is due to various factors, though much of it is due to age. The nature of ageing is that things break down and fall apart. The result is that things are forced to become increasingly disorganized and less efficient. And as things move towards disorder they don't naturally reorganize themselves because it's easier for them to remain unordered. Inspired by a sidewalk that was breaking down, these works explore the idea of nature reclaiming itself.
